Academics

Our Classes

At The Valor School, our class structure is designed to call students up—guiding them intentionally into deeper habit formation, richer encounters with living ideas, and the joy of discovery.

We currently offer six classes, each shaped with the developmental needs of the students in mind.

Every class at The Valor School is rooted in Charlotte Mason’s principles: respecting the child as a person, nurturing habits of character, and offering a broad and beautiful curriculum that delights the soul and sharpens the mind.

Our Classes

Class One | Ages 4–5

Our youngest learners are introduced to the beauty of rhythm, song, and story. Class One gently nurtures habits of attention, order, and kindness while building a foundation of wonder and joyful learning.

Class Two | Ages 5-6

In Class Two, children begin engaging more deeply with narration, nature walks, music, and movement. Academics are woven into a warm, story-rich environment that builds confidence and curiosity. (Kindergarten Age)

Class Three | Ages 6-7

Students in Class Three step more fully into Charlotte Mason’s method: engaging with living books, daily narration, artist and composer study, and habit training. They begin to form deeper relationships with ideas and with one another. (First Grade)

Class Four | Ages 7-9

As students mature, so does the feast. In Class Four, we expand into more complex literature, nature journaling, Spanish, geography, and brush drawing, and meaningful handwork. Students grow in independence, attentiveness, and responsibility. (Grades 2-3)

Class Five | Ages 9-10

Class Five students continue in the rich curriculum with the addition of Citizenship and Shakespeare. These older students deepen their engagement with the beautiful content as they grow in responsibility.

Class Six | Ages 10-11

Class Six students are introduced to Plutarch for the first time. These oldest students set an example and continue to grow in independence, embracing deeper thinking and growing leadership as they engage with living ideas.
