A co-school, or homeschool co‑op, is a cooperative community of homeschooling families who meet regularly to offer classes, resources, and support. At Valor, we hire teachers so that parents drop-off students for a school morning or day. This allows children to learn in a group setting while still being homeschooled the rest of the week.

Valor meets on Tuesdays in the Western suburbs of Chicago, currently West Chicago, IL. Classes 1-3 (Preschool-1st grade) meet from 9-11:30am and Classes 4-5 (2nd-4th grade) meet from 9-2pm.

Valor curriculum aligns with the Charlotte Mason Educational Center (CMEC) curriculum, however membership or use of CMEC materials is not required for participation. Nonetheless, many families appreciate this alignment—because the CMEC provides a beautifully organized, year-long course of study featuring living books and thoughtful schedules and VAlor teaches many of these subjects one day a week which helps lighten the load at home.
-
At Valor, parents volunteer to aid and observe once a semester. This provides consistent support for teachers and opportunities for parents to engage and observe.

All‑School Picnic Gatherings: At the beginning and end of each school year, we gather as a whole community to celebrate, welcome new families, and build lasting relationships across ages.Monthly Parent Book Group (Evening): We highly recommend the parents (usually the homeschooling parent) attend our monthly evening book group.
